That Wild Soccer

Soccer is Italy and Italy is soccer. The two just go hand-in-hand, there is no doubt about it. I was there for about two weeks and experienced it first hand.

Sure there are soccer fanatics here when Italy wins, but in Italy it is almost a religion. Almost everything comes to a stop when Italy plays. Everyone trys to catch the game.

The most inventive setup I saw were some guys that connected a TV onto a car battery to watch the game at the garage where they worked. I even got a picture of this, it is in the Italia 2 group of photos.

I happened to be there for four games and it was always a wild party when Italy won, there was always lots of car horn honking, crazy flag waving, and fireworks.

The wildest celebrating I saw was on June 26th in Lido di Ostia(near Rome) when they won against Australia in the final minute. The party for that lasted about three hours and was very loud. The scorer of the game was Sig.Totti who plays for Rome and is a Roman, therefore they partied alot.

It was some wild soccer partying that I saw, it was fun.
